DAY 1: Cachicata Trek – Inti Punku
Cachicata Trek – Inti Punku
- 05:30 – 06:00 AM – Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco
- Drive for approximately 1.5 hours to Ollantaytambo, starting point of the trek
- Begin the hike towards Cachicata quarry and Inti Punku
- Morning hike (4–5 hours approx.)
- Ascend along ancient Inca trails
- Observe the Cachicata stone quarry and massive carved stones
- Learn about Inca construction techniques and stone transport systems
- See chullpas (ancient funerary structures) along the route
- Enjoy panoramic views of the Sacred Valley and surrounding mountains
- Arrival at Inti Punku (Sun Gate) at approximately 3,900 m (12,795 ft)
- Free time to explore, rest, and take photos
- Experience the spiritual and ceremonial significance of the site
- Lunch break with scenic mountain views
- Begin descent back to Ollantaytambo
- Late afternoon – Return transport to Cusco (or optional drop-off in Ollantaytambo)
- Approx. arrival in Cusco: evening (around 8:00–9:00 PM)

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
- Wear comfortable hiking boots with good grip and ankle support
- Bring a waterproof jacket or rain poncho (weather can change quickly)

- Carry extra snacks for energy during the hike
- Bring a camera or phone with enough storage for photos
- Acclimatize in Cusco for at least 1–2 days before the trek
