Day 1: Cusco - Piskacucho (Km 82) - Wayllabamba

Day 1: Cusco - Piskacucho (Km 82) - Wayllabamba.

  • Departure from Cusco at 5:00 a.m.
  • 1.5-hour drive to Ollantaytambo.
  • Opportunity to purchase missing gear (gloves, sunglasses, etc.) and enjoy the included breakfast.
  • Transfer to Piskacuchu (Km 82), entrance to the Inca Trail.
  • Pass through the checkpoint and begin the Inca Trail towards Wayllabamba.
  • Stop at Miskay, a Quechua village, for lunch and rest.
  • Visit the archaeological site of Patallacta or Llactapata, with a historical explanation from the guide.
  • 2-hour hike to Wayllabamba.
  • Overnight camping in Wayllabamba at 2,900 meters (9,514 feet) above sea level.

Day 2: Wayllabamba - Ayapata - Warmiwañusca - Pacaymayo.

  • Early start to take advantage of the mountain shade.
  • Ascent to the first pass of the Inca Trail: Warmiwañusca (4,200 meters above sea level), the highest point of the trail.
  • Observation of ecological zones and microclimates.
  • Panoramic view from the summit, with the opportunity for group photos.
  • Descent to Pacaymayo (3,600 meters above sea level).
  • Lunch at the campsite and free afternoon to explore and relax.

Day 3: Pacaymayo - Chakicocha - Phuyupatamarca - Intipata - Wiñaywayna

  • Nutritious breakfast to start the day.
  • 45-minute hike to Runkurakay Pass (3,850 meters above sea level), the second-highest on the trail.
  • Stop to explore the Runkuracay archaeological site, with panoramic views and historical explanation.
  • Visit to the archaeological sites of Sayacmarca and Phuyupatamarca to learn more about the Inca civilization.
  • Lunch along the trail before continuing to Wiñaywayna.
  • Overnight camping at Wiñaywayna, the final night on the Inca Trail.
  • Farewell dinner with the porters, celebrating achievements and their support throughout the journey.

Day 4: Wiñaywayna - Machupicchu - Cusco

  • Early breakfast to begin the final stretch of the Inca Trail.
  • Hike to Inti Punku («Sun Gate»), the traditional entrance with a panoramic view of Machu Picchu.
  • Time for photos and enjoying the breathtaking view of the citadel.
  • Descent to Machu Picchu to check in and take a 2-hour guided tour.
  • Exploration of the historic sanctuary to learn about its history, architecture, and cultural significance.
  • Option to descend to Aguas Calientes by bus or walking via the Inca Trail.
  • Lunch in Aguas Calientes and free time to explore the town.
  • Return to Cusco: train to Ollantaytambo followed by a bus ride to Cusco, concluding the adventure.
