Day 1: Cusco – Kilometer 104 (Chachabamba) – Aguas Calientes

  • Pickup: 4:00 a.m. at the hotel in Cusco with the guide.
  • Transport: Private bus to Ollantaytambo (1.5 hours) and train to Km 104, the starting point of the hike.
  • Hike: Begin the 2-day Inca Trail, visiting archaeological sites like Chachabamba and Wiñayhuayna.
  • Scenery: Enjoy views of the Urubamba River and orchids.
  • Wiñayhuayna: Stop for a break and box lunch.
  • Inti Punku: Pass through the Sun Gate to enjoy the sunset with fewer tourists.
  • Machu Picchu: Walk 45 minutes to the citadel, then take a bus to Aguas Calientes.
  • Dinner: Coordination and planning for the guided tour the next day.

Day 2: Machu Picchu – Cusco

  • Machu Picchu: Key day of the tour. Early departure to take the first bus and witness the sunrise over the ruins.
  • Guided Tour: 3 hours exploring enclosures, temples, fountains, plazas, and the agricultural and urban sectors.
  • Free Time: Option to explore the ruins independently or hike Huayna Picchu (additional entry fee of $65).
  • Return: Train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and private transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
